I am thrilled to say that Pindippy has now been up for 14 days. Thank you so much for all the lovely comments.
It has been a busy few weeks, fitting in filming and editing and updating the website with some of my other stuff. Pindippy is my priority, however, and I am so excited about posting the forthcoming sketches and drawings. A music video tribute will be posted this week…. I will keep the track a surprise.
We have been filming in a variety of locations recently: Ikea, Richmond Park, Waterloo station, a gym, tennis courts, a picnic in a park….
Most of these involved a wide variety of food that acted as props: Skittles, Krispy Kreme donuts, animal biscuits, garibaldi biscuits, a Crunchy bar, a Penguin bar, Snack a Jacks…. None of these were eaten. Actually, some of these were partially eaten by some keen and curious passing dogs.
All of this will become clear when the sketches are edited and ready to be seen!
I have also made a few trips to watch some shows/performances/things, some of which I would like to talk about right now:
2 gigs: Melody Melodica and Me and Crystal Fighters
Both of these gigs left me feeling happy and inspired to immediately update my severely neglected and battered ipod.
Melody, Melodica and Me played their new album to a small dancing crowd of friends and fans in Camden. The music is very uplifting, enchanting and bob-along beautiful. You can find them @mmmelodic on Twitter and at http://www.myspace.com/mmmelodic.
I am also proud to say that my cousin is the lead singer in a band called Crystal Fighters. They played to a big crowd at Heaven in London, and it was jam-packed. What I love about them is that they put on such a show: they play characters from a different era and culture, and make everybody in the audience want to sing back in Spanish accents and bang on some wood. I think more bands should form characters and put on a spectacle. You can find them @crystalfighters on Twitter and www.crystalfighters.com. Or google them!

2 theatre trips: Frankenstein, The Importance of Being Earnest
I went to see a production of Danny Boyle’s Frankenstein. I couldn't get tickets to see it for real at the National but luckily managed to see the NT Live broadcast at the Gate Cinema in Notting Hill.
I would like to point out that I am a fan of Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller: they are gorgeous and brilliant, and were very good as the Creature and Victor Frankenstein respectively. I also like Danny Boyle a lot – (he seems very friendly in interviews)- But, (maybe it was because I watching it through a big screen), I found it funny, and I don’t think that was the intention.
The creature (Benedict) spends the first 20 minutes (basically) naked wriggling on the stage having just been ‘born’….I found this very awkward, not beautiful, and so my brother and I spent a good chunk of the time giggling uncomfortably. I also couldn't help thinking how much money had been spent…
In contrast to the lavishly dressed and embellished set at the National, I went to see a high school production of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest. It was FABULOUS. The set was cheerfully DIY, the child actors stumbled keenly along, imperfectly perfect, and all of the 12 people in the audience were willing them on and not at all thinking about Eastenders. I totally forgot about the latest installment of Ronnie: Baby Thief.
1 launch: SpaceMax
I am glad to be involved as an illustrator for SpaceMax. This is a project for families living in crammed places in South London. The aim is to provide people with better ideas about managing their living space and to provide them with flat-packed furniture and other alternatives to maximize their space. The official launch was at a primary school in Battersea, and I provided a big sheet and pillow case that I had drawn the SpaceMax virtual town on, which was hung on a climbing frame. The photos don't come up very well, sorry.
